Billing FAQ

How are Compose databases billed?

Compose databases are billed on an hourly basis and the charges are grouped together into a single monthly charge. Then, invoices are processed once per month to the financial arrangement that you have set up with us.

What if my invoice failed to process?

If your invoice fails to process because of various reasons (expired credit card, etc.), have your Compose account owner update the financial information stored and the invoice will re-run automatically in the next 1-2 days.

Questions about your invoice?

If you have any questions or concerns about your monthly invoice with Compose, please email our team at: support@compose.io and we will be happy to help you.

How do I add or update my credit card?

The following explains how to add or update the credit card used for your account:

  1. Log into Compose as the account owner and click the account name in the top-right menu.
  2. Click on the Billing link in the menu on the left.
  3. Locate the Add a card or Change card link on the right side of the screen.
  4. Enter the credit card information in the provided modal.

How do I calculate database storage size?

Every database deployment (except MongoDB Classic) displays information about disk and RAM usage. You'll find that in the Overview for each deployment in the Current Usage panel.

This panel shows the current disk usage in terms of the amount of storage that has been allocated to it, the amount of RAM allocated and the monthly bill if those levels were maintained for a month. Compose bills based on hourly usage checking disk use and scaling as appropriate every hour. The numbers displayed here are from the last hourly reading.

If you want more precise and up-to-the-minute figures for disk usage, consult the specific databases FAQ or documentation.

The MongoDB Classic FAQ has details on how to work out storage for those database deployments.
